Ngunyupezi

Ngunyupezi

A very good morning from Ngunyupezi, a much loved elephant that was named in memory of Sergeant James Malukeke, who served the Kruger National Park for 33 years.

The name is Tsonga and means “one who likes to dance with women, but who will always go home at the end of the night,” which fits quite well as he used to be a shy and seldomly seen elephant bull.

His sights have increased in the past 6 years, and little do we know if his behaviour still lives up to what his name implies. Either way, we at Elephant Gin love a good elephant name and think Ngunypezi is a perfect one to highlight on the labels of our new batch of Elephant London Dry Gin.
